A learning experience
Aug. 16th, 2001 09:23 am0655 Bio-Tel Call (Emergency Medical Services Radio Link)
5 year old smoke inhalation victim with CPR in progress - 5 minutes out....
Room set-up at change of shift. Both night shift and day shift in trauma room - about 15 people.
Dallas Fire Dept arrive at 0701...CPR still in
progress. Patient is blue and covered in soot.
1 1/2 hours of resuscitation later...he is alive...
Don't know if we did him a favor. His pupils were slowly not responding....one became fixed and dilated. Unknown brain death.
Learned way too much to write down.
Must....go....to....sleep........*sigh*
