Actually I can see that, in a way. You have to remember the original bear community was not hairy and chubby, it was hairy and muscled. Once bears started meaning hairy and chubby most of the original bears migrated into the leather community.
But the whole point you can be a 'bear' and be muscled. And contrary to popular belief not all muscled guys and 'circuit boys' are assholes. They are just different. The 'bears' can be just as catty and rude as the 'circuit boys' and any other group.
Start working out if you're not happy with how you look. You're the one that has to be happy, not the bears, circuit boys or even us here on LJ. Your real friends will support you in being happy regardless of what you choose.
