How unoriginal......so sue me
Jul. 4th, 2003 09:15 amsame as what I said last year.....DITTO
Happy 4th what it means to me.....
WELL CHILDREN:
Parents that call their PCP about a problem and rather than the PCP actually provide medical advice over the telephone, they avoid legal issues and send the parents to the ER. The parents, thinking that this is a "true" emergency, are distraught and then pissed off that (a) that because it is NOT an emergency they will have to wait longer (b) a referral by a PCP doesn't get them seen faster [acuity is set by our staff, not by an outside MD that hasn't physically eval'd the patient] and (c) having insurance or cash/credit/gold/platinum anything does not get them seen faster or a better waiting room [that is called a financial triage and totally illegal according to US federal EMTALA statues]
BROKEN BONES:
Snap, crackle, pop! Inattentive adults allowing children to jump, run, and soar under a blind eye. Social workers are busy today!
LACERATIONS:
Cuts, cuts, cuts! See above reason for broken bones.
BURNS:
Inattentive adults allowing children to grab at grills, stoves, BBQ spits atc....so sad...Mexicans at lake lewisville are famous for this. Social workers are busy today!
NEAR DROWNINGS:
Inattentive adults allowing children to [see a trend here?] wander off or too many kids being watched by too few adults. Mostly the former reason. Mexicans at lake lewisville are famous for this...Social workers are busy today!
MPCs:[motor-pedestrian collision]
Inattentive adults or too many kids being watched by too few adults allow the children to wander off and play in streets. Social workers are busy today!
MVCs:[motor-vehicle collision]
After all is done and partied out, all the dumb drunk people drive back to their homes - with their children in any part of the car they will fit.....unrestrained. Social workers are busy today!

Date: 2003-07-04 05:34 pm (UTC)the griener called in sick last night and left me without a paramedic in minor emergency last night. it was kid night ...
"he was running a fever of 99.9 earlier so i called his pcp and his secretary told me to come into the emergency ..."
first of all, 99.9 isn't a fever in a child ....
second of all, if this is the shit that you are pestering your pcp with all the time, no wonder he just has his secretary send your ass to wait all night in the waiting room of a crowded inner city trauma center er ....
smiles .... you off all weekend?
