odd night

[clintswan]

last night was steady...irritating

Crit Care : 4 hours

4 yo 2nd story fall from window, neck and back fracture ---- surgery floor admit

5 yo status asthmaticus, poor air exchange, poss. intubation ---> ICU admit

Triage : 8 hours

a new patient signin every 3-6 minutes

6 hour wait...unhappy families

finally clear waiting room @ 0620

End of shift : 20 min late relief staff

*sigh*

found out my crit care asthma kiddo vomited during intubation in ICU and died...

damn...
now I know why I avoid the medical field..sounds frustrating, makes you feel helpless, and I'd be just as exhausted.
Look to happier moments in the future for some hope.
Know you can always vent on here if need be and your LJ buddies will give you an open ear anytime, bud.
