I lost 70lbs doing Atkins and I just restarted the program. Hang in there handsome and just be sure to exercise. The program itself will only take you so far without adding in exercise.

"Fat schmatt, so long as I lose pounds". You must know there is something wrong with this equation Clint, as a recent two-part BBC doco recently investigated and reported. We won't know the long-term effects on stripedtiger without an arterial and hepatic biopsy.

You're absolutely right. I was much healthier carrying 70 extra pounds of fat, when I didnt exercise at all, and was borderline diabetic. When my cholesterol was 40 points higher I was much safer than I am now that my bad cholesterol is low and my good cholesterol has increased dramatically. I have no idea what the long term effects of gaining a sense of self esteem and accomplishment will do to me ten or twenty years down the road and should have played it safe and kept banging my head into every low calorie, low fat diet that never worked for me in the 33 years of my life up until then...

Lighten up dude. This guy is trying to loose weight and he's succeeding. How about just congratulating him on going for a goal and achieving it instead of assuming he's too unprepared to have looked into studies and research himeself. Sometimes you just need to say good job... I swear I've had more people react negatively to hearing I follow a low carb lifestyle than reacting to hearing I'm gay.

"You swallow dick? Well ok I guess."

"You had bacon and eggs for breakfast and you're doing Atkins? GET BACK EVERYONE! THE FREAK'S HEART COULD BLOW UP LIKE A BOMB ANY MINUTE AND KILL EVERYONE AROUND HIM!"

Can this be.....sarcasm? I just dont think the pounds loss is much help if you increase your heart and circulatory risk. In the long run , I guess, I believe that only reduced calorie intake (including alchohol), combined with exercise is a safe way to lose weight. Sorry I got you all in a tizz
