You know, when I was a kid I was in cub scouts and I had a great time. The scout leaders were just local moms and dads, and I can't remember a single time in four years when they brought up god other than people saying grace before meals - which isn't all that uncommon anywhere in the midwest. We did crafts. We camped. We got bitten by insects. But I don't recall ever sitting around a campfire singing The God Song™.

I think it's sad that all this crap that has nothing to do with the kids is really threatening to fuck up the *only* interesting thing that a lot of children get to do.

I never made it out of Cub Scouts. The Den Monther was an uptight matronly priss who made all the kids sit on the floor at our meetings (though she had a 3000sqft house & 3 sofas in the living room) & refused to drive anyone anywhere. Then her son spilled fruit punch in my mom's station wagon & the lady refused to pay for the cleaning (my mom responded by keying the bitch's Lincoln Town Car). I got in trouble for calling another scout's sister a retard (she was, clinically... but it still was rude to say so nonetheless). I had my dad build my Pinebox Derby car (which won 10th place, out of at least 50 cars) & after that I put my scout beads away for good & that was the end of that. Chubby children shouldn't wear brown anyhow.

heheh.. dude that's awful. I made it to Webelo without feeling the wrath of god. They havn't even hit puberty and he already has it out for them =/
