went out last night.

Got asked this really personal question.

HE : Clint, how long have you been single?
ME : umm.... about 4 years.
HE : Why?
ME : Pardon me?
HE : I mean you should have someone by now.
ME : I'm not really looking. I like being single. If the right man comes along, I'll see what happens.
HE : So he's gonna have to pursue you?
ME : I guess...*shrug*

At this point I have to let the reader know that this guy is a short black man that has had the hots for me for a while. He just doesn't move his lips when he talks. I hate that.

back to the conversation...

HE : So you don't want a man?
ME : No, I do. I just am not pinning all my hopes and self worth on that.
HE : Oh...
ME : Well, I gotta go. Seeya later.

This almost put a bad spin on the night. *sheesh*

i totally admire your answer to your erstwhile suitor. i get that behavior now and then (it's almost as if i was wrong for deciding to live my life as i choose), and i always give a similar answer ... the end result is always the same: they always think there's something wrong with me, and i always think they're not very imaginative or bright.
