LONG DISTANCE bf? that is such strange crap to me. how do you make a relationship without living in the same city. a guy once thought i was shallow because i wouldn't serious;y consider dating him because he lives in gainesville...

Long distance BFs are great for people who want to have fun and want to think they're in a relationship, but who can't deal with the actual intimacy of living with someone with his own needs and habits. I used to have them all the time! When I was fat, I was very popular with South Americans--oddly enough, there aren't that many pasty-white, fat redheads in Brazil.

On the flip side, they are very difficult to maintain when 18 months of the first three years of your relationship are spent living 2000 miles apart due to the vagaries of the economy.

Having it take three years to be able to spend your actual anniversary with the person you love more than life itself was hard, but it has made the third (and subsequent ones) all the sweeter.

I agree. I am moving in 2 weeks to be with someone I've been dating LD for almost 9 months. Granted we are only 360 miles, I think its kinda the same principle.
