Sorry that your vacation plans were canceled. But I'm just glad that the storm didn't hit this weekend when so many more people would have been in the downtown and surrounding areas for Southern Decadence. It's so tough to watch on TV that I've stuck to just reading about it online.
I just cancelled my late September plane tickets to NOLA. I was so strongly looking forward to seeing my old home town again. I guess it will be a while now again.
have you thought about volunteering during that time period? your skills could be SO useful, clint. i know it's not vacation, but i did think about what you could bring to the table. a group of chefs are talking about cooking for people at "reunion" - once they get there.
Sucks when you look forward to something so much, and it's botched... could be worse though. I'd much rather have to make other plans than be stuck down there in that hell on earth like the unfortunate souls who are.
